Birthday Video Toy Review and Customization, NBS 3x Sulit Sale, and Taco Bell Discoveries

Birthday Video Review: Customizing my very own Aliens movie line Sergeant Apone from a NECA Aliens Kenner Space Marine Apone (Series 13)
With the Al Matthews (Gunnery Sergeant Apone) deciding not to grant NECA the use of his likeness, the toy company seemingly got creative and used an existing loophole from an old Kenner toy license to produce their very own Sergeant Apone figure.
The 1992 Kenner Aliens line—which featured Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne, Private Hudson, Bishop, Private Vasquez, Private Drake, and Sergeant Apone—currently has three figure in the market (Ripley, Vasquez, and Apone) with a fourth—Private Drake—on the way (I can’t wait!).
Now, I don’t usually customize, but this seems to be the only way that I’ll get the good old Gunnery Sergeant into my line of Aliens movie line figures.
Enjoy!
NBS 3x Sulit Sale (August 31 to September 2, 2020)
Also dropped by National Bookstore today to check out their NBS 3x Sulit Sale. The promo—which will run in participating branches from August 31-September 2, 2020—lets shoppers pick up any three (3) books for only P1,500 (Roughly 30 USD).
Sadly, the book selection of the branch that I visited was…quite limited. I did hover around a couple of Chuck Palahniuk books that I didn’t have but ultimately passed on them as well.
Hopefully your book hunting experience will be more fruitful than mine.
Subtle changes to the Taco Bell Philippines Menu
Hard to believe that this is my first trip to Taco Bell since the lockdown last March. Off the bat, it seems that Taco Bell Philippines has streamlined their menu and taken out a personal favourite: Churros with Chocolate dip.
Their wide selection of hot sauces has also been reduced to one—their red packet Fire! sauce.
